Biography
Bill divides his time between London and Moscow where he is a news presenter on Russia Today, the 24 hour international news channel on worldwide satellite including Sky Channel 512, Freeview Channel 85 and Freesat. The channel was shortlisted in the Best News Service category in the UK Digital Broadcast Awards 2009. He fronts 6 hours of daily live interviewing and news presenting in the studio as well as hosting live broadcasts covering special events on location; including, during President Obama’s recent high profile visit to Moscow, hosting 12 hours of live programming from Red Square over two days – without teleprompter.
He can be seen almost every day on two other channels, Sky Travel and Ocean TV.
As a live event facilitator, Bill has hosted conferences for BT, Driving Standards Agency, Pfizer and launched many new cars for Vauxhall. He is a popular corporate TV presenter, having worked for numerous blue chip companies. He records voice-overs both in London and Moscow for international clients.
Although Bill qualified as a teacher, his first job was working for BBC Local Radio for 4 years where he hosted numerous shows including a news and current affairs morning programme. He then moved to television to present many regional programmes for ITV Anglia before fronting Timekeepers, a general knowledge daytime quiz show for BBC One. Much of his work has also been interviewing employees and company directors for business television.
Bill’s other interests include fly fishing, tennis (his great aunt, Lottie Dod is the youngest ever Wimbledon champion – winning the title 5 times) and collecting air miles on flights from Moscow to London!
