BIOGRAPHY

Toby Buckland is a qualified horticulturist, TV broadcaster, author and a lifelong gardener known for his earthy, hands on style. Toby is an acknowledged all-rounder with that rare ability to make gardening accessible to all. His career has taken him from Devon nurseryman, to professional gardener and on to presenting numerous TV shows. He has set up his own online Devon Nursery, Toby Buckland Nurseries, but is best known for his time on BBC Gardeners’ World. Other TV credits include Home Front in the Garden, Garden Magic and For Peat’s Sake, for which he was given an Environmental Award in 2009, by the Garden Media Guild. He is an award winning garden designer, taking RHS Gold and Best in Show at BBC Gardeners’ World Live, in 2008. He also lectures and writes for a variety of horticultural journals and newspapers, which include Amateur Gardening, The English Garden, Gardeners’ World Magazine, The Telegraph, The Daily Mail, The Guardian and The Mail on Sunday. He is the author of five gardening books, including his latest BBC book “Flowers, Planning and Planting for Continuous Colour” published in April 2011.
